Equimotion with Stride to Pride
In February 2024 one of our young people successfully applied for funding from Youth Action Fife towards horse therapy sessions with Stride to Pride Ponies at Kinshaldy stables. They specialise in confidence building, especially in young people with additional support needs. They encourage young people to benefit from the magic of the Stride to Pride miniature Shetland Ponies, building confidence, life skills, self-esteem, team building and general wellbeing through yard and pony time.
With this money, 30 young people were able to enjoy 12 sessions from February to April 2024. The young people learned about basic horse care such as brushing the ponies, mucking out the stables, how to lead the ponies with reins and much more! Watching the trust build between our young people and the ponies was wonderful, and by the end of the project the growth in confidence was lovely to see.

Families First Focus Group
